Regional Workshop

IMPROVING KNOWLEDGE SHARING ON TREE SPECIES IN THE GUIANA SHIELD

From 29 September to 2 October 2015, a workshop on tree species in the Guiana Shield took place on Tonka Island in Suriname. The event convened about 30 participants from research institutions and forestry services in the Guiana Shield and beyond, to exchange experiences on tree species identification in the region and to discuss future collaboration.

Following the workshop, the e-mail group Guiana Shield Tree Species was created for continued discussions. If interested in the topic, join the group here.

A virtual library, gathering some of the available literature on tree species identification in the Guiana Shield region, is also available on demand. Please contact Sara Svensson if interested.
